| Pasta Fare, one of the Illinois Center for Autism’s retail businesses, is specifically designed to provide vocational training and employment opportunities for adults with autism. The program is designed for adults with autism who need to learn the social and vocational skills necessary to function in a job setting within the community. Individuals are trained in the areas of cooking, retail food packaging, janitorial, housekeeping, and clerical. Each person is paid a Positive behavior modification techniques are used to enhance their skills and abilities to learn. In 2003, the ICA expanded Pasta Fare to include a fine dining restaurant that seats 40 people. Pasta Fare is accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF), under Employment Services: Organizational Employment Services. |
