Illinois Center for Autism
A special place...for special people.
Client & Family Services
The Illinois Center for Autism’s Client and Family Support Program offers a wide array of
services. These services are designed to assist families in the care of their family
member with autism. Based on individual choice, families select services such as
assistance with: guardianship, health care, respite care, skill training in the home, or
service facilitation for the Department of Human Services.

Services provided may include but are not limited to assistance with the following:
    PDD/Autism related information
    Information/referral for guardianship
    Healthcare issues
    Referral to doctors/dentists
Linkage to respite care services funding sources
    Behavior Management skills development
    Language skills development
    In-home skills development
    Advocacy referral
    Parent-to-parent connections
Telephone and/or email consultation regarding individual issues/concerns

Monthly support group meetings are held at ICA.  Through sharing problems and
concerns with others, the family discovers new ways to cope with their child or family
member. Home visits are scheduled on an emergency basis for any family experiencing
problems or difficulties. Periodic conferences are offered for all ICA students/clients.

As a part of the Client and Family Support Program, ICA also offers local and statewide
referrals and linkage services. Ongoing contacts and follow-up services are provided for
individuals who leave our programs or live outside the agency’s program service
delivery area.

The Client and Family Support Program is accredited by the
Rehabilitation Accreditation
Commission (CARF) under Community Services: Family Services.
